SEO and Online Marketing - San Diego Style

Ok, as prompted by a user on StartupNation, I built my own blog.  Not my first one mind you but one dedicated to my site.

I plan on making this blog SEO / Online Marketing related.  I’ll put up some cool stuff but I’m not going to put up everything that I do.  Just the most important things or things other SEO/Online Marketing types should know but may not be able to find.

Here’s what I used to build this blog:

Wordpress - Latest and Greatest version

Theme - Cutline by Chris Pearson - Available on the Wordpress site.

I also installed the following plug-ins (Available on the Wordpress site):

Admin SSL Secure Admin - This plugin (along with a shared or dedicated SSL) will force an SSL session when logging into your admin panel.  A Must need for all Wordpress blogs

Social Dropdown - This Plug-in displays several of the major social bookmarking sites in a very neat drop down menu.  You have the choice of which ones to display and which ones not to display (42 to choose from in all).  VERY Slick.

WP-Spamfree - Instead of a CAPTCHA plug-in, I’m testing this plug-in to see if it lives up to it’s billing. It’s Powerful anti-spam plugin that virtually eliminates comment spam. Finally, you can enjoy a spam-free WordPress blog! Includes contact form.

WP-CAPTCHA - I installed this but it’s not active as of yet.  I’m testing to see if the WP-Spamfree really works or not. WP-CAPTCHA integrates reCAPTCHA anti-spam methods with WordPress including comment, registration, and email spam protection.

WP-BAN - This is active because if you run blogs you need to have the power to ban the spammers by individual IP address or sometimes by IP address ranges. Ban users by IP, IP Range, host name and referer url from visiting your WordPress’s blog.

Smart YouTube Plugin - Smart Youtube plugin allows you to insert full featured YouTube videos into your post, comments and in RSS feed. I’m also looking for a Dailymotion one if anyone sees one let me know.

All in One SEO Pack - Automatically optimizes your Wordpress blog for Search Engines (Search Engine Optimization).

SEO Title Tag - Installed but not Active as I’m testing the other SEO blog package.  Search engine optimize your blog’s title tags. Mass edit the title tags of posts, pages, category pages, tag pages - indeed, any URL!
